It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind championship match pressure. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"For those following me in training, it's been a disappointing period because it seemed my form was missing at all," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your competitive instincts take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in replacing iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off the opening delivery and from that point the right-hander was underway.

"The possibility to take the field and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we know we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wished she had played through the pain.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as leader.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
